About Customs Regulations for Identity Documents

When you place an order for a product from BoloboExpress.com, proof of the identity may be required for customs clearance.

Customs regulations in certain countries require ID to be provided for customs clearance. All ID information provided by you will be stored safely & securely. BoloboExpress needs to store this information in order to securely transmit it to the carrier when your package is shipped and share it with customs officials in the destination country, which will allow your packages to clear customs without additional delay. If you need to return a product, we may also use the ID information provided to clear customs during the return process. The ID information you store and attach to a delivery address will be used for that shipment and stored for re-use on future shipments to your selected delivery address. You can change the ID information for a delivery address, or delete it within “Your Addresses, Edit Address” section. You can also delete the ID information from your BoloboExpress account at any time within the My Account section. The ID information will be removed from your saved IDs page and from all addresses in your address book immediately. The ID information will also be permanently deleted from BoloboExpress’s database as soon as possible, but it can take up to 30 days. If you delete your ID number and you have orders that have not been yet shipped, you may be contacted by your delivery carrier for further information to complete those orders. If you need to use your ID number again for future shipments, please add the ID number again when it is requested when making your next purchase

If you have multiple people at the same delivery address, you can add ID information for all of them for BoloboExpress orders. Please create multiple entries in your Address Book, one for each person, with that person’s name in the “Full Name” field on the Your Addresses,  Add Address section. After creating the new address entry, you will be prompted for ID information if it is required for delivery to that location.

Customs regulations vary widely between countries and regions. For more information, please contact your local customs office. When additional customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.

  • Customs offices in some countries and regions require the importer of record (IOR) to provide a particular form of identification (ID) before releasing a shipment. You may be required to provide an ID number (such as national ID), a photograph of ID, or other documents.
  • Countries, regions, and jurisdictions that can require an ID number include: Argentina, Bahrain, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Egypt, El Salvador, Guatemala, India, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Peru, Qatar, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay.

 

With free shipping, your order will be delivered 5-8 business days after all your items are available to ship, including pre-order items.

  1. Add at least $45 of eligible items to your Shopping Cart. Items with “FREE Shipping” messaging on the product detail page contribute to your free shipping order minimum.
  2. Proceed to checkout.
  3. Enter a U.S.-eligible delivery address.
    • (Note that some items shipped to Alaska or Hawaii may not be eligible for FREE shipping)
  4. Select FREE Shipping as your shipping speed.

Note: Gift cards receive FREE One-Day shipping, but don’t apply to the $25 minimum.

 

About Shipping Restrictions

Certain restrictions prevent us from shipping certain products to all geographical locations.

You’ll be notified at checkout if we’re unable to ship specific items to the address you’ve selected. Please also check the product detail pages for any item-specific shipping restrictions.

When possible, product detail pages filter out offers that can’t be shipped to your delivery address. To determine your location, we’ll use your default 1-Click delivery address when you’re signed in to your account and 1-Click has been set up; otherwise, we’ll use your IP address.

 

 

About Shipping Perishable Items

Some products require special packaging to make sure they arrive in good condition.

The only shipping option for these items is our Expedited Chilled Shipping method. These items ship in Styrofoam containers with cooling gel packs and arrive 1-2 days after leaving our fulfillment center.

Since special handling is required for these items, there is a shipping charge of $2.99 per item and they aren’t eligible for free shipping or BoloboExpress. Expedited Chilled Shipping is not available when shipping to a P.O. Box.

 

 

Domestic Shipping Restrictions

There are limitations, which prevent us from shipping certain products to some geographical locations in the U.S. The locations include U.S. territories, protectorates, P.O. Boxes, military installations (APO/FPO addresses), and diplomatic posts (DPO addresses).

These restrictions can be related to local/state laws and statutes hazmat materials, large and oddly shaped items or BoloboExpress policy. If you have a question about the shipping eligibility for a specific product, see the product detail page for more information.

There are special eligibility considerations when shipping items to domestic areas outside of the 48 contiguous states including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Not all items may be shipped to these locations for the same reasons identified previously. Visit the following links for more information on shipping restrictions.

About Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico Addresses

There are some special considerations when shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

Most items can be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico however certain restrictions may apply which include:

  • Dimensional shipping limits – standard shipping to these regions are limited by the overall shipping size which includes a maximum length or girth of 108 inches and a maximum weight of 70 lbs.
  • Large and/or oddly shaped items may not be eligible for shipping.
  • Hazmat – certain hazmat items (including but not limited to lithium batteries) are restricted from shipping to these areas.
  • Address type – certain address types preclude shipping speeds, due to carrier capabilities.

Expedited and Priority Shipping isn’t available for P.O. Boxes in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Certain addresses aren’t eligible to receive shipments at all and an error message will appear at checkout. Check the item’s product detail page for eligibility and available shipping options. Available shipping options will appear at checkout when you enter a shipping address.

 

About Shipping to APO, FPO & DPO Addresses

There are some special considerations when shipping to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses.

Most items can ship to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses, except:

  • Cell phones and service
  • Computers
  • Standalone lithium batteries
  • Lithium batteries packed separately with equipment (products that come with lithium batteries installed are permitted for shipping to APO and FPO addresses)
  • Furniture
  • Outdoor living items

Some apparel, baby, camera and photo, electronics, health and personal care, housewares, jewelry, software, sports, and tools and hardware items cannot be shipped to APO, FPO, or DPO addresses. If you enter an address and the item isn’t eligible to be shipped to that address, an error message will appear at checkout. Check the product detail page of the item for eligibility.

Set the City to APO, FPO, or DPO, set the State/Province/Region to AA, AE, or AP, and the Country/Region to “United States” when shipping to an APO, FPO, or DPO address. Standard Shipping Deliveries may take up to 21 business days for these addresses.

 

 

About Shipping to Addresses in Dulles, VA – Zip Codes 20189 & 20521

There are some special considerations when shipping to addresses in Zip Codes 20189 and 20521.

Many items can be shipped to address within the zip codes 20189 and 20521, except for:

  • Perishables or temperature-controlled items
  • Liquids exceeding 16 oz. in a single parcel
  • Weapons or items that resemble weapons
  • Nail polish, perfume, other flammables
  • Aerosols

Note: Bulk shipments (equal or exceeding 6 cubic feet) can be sent but requires the customer to fund shipping costs (all automotive tires are considered bulk).

Most items can be shipped to U.S. Territories and Protectorates however certain restrictions may apply which include:

  • Dimensional shipping limits – standard shipping to these regions are limited by the overall shipping size which includes a maximum length or girth of 108 inches and a maximum weight of 70 lbs.
  • Large and/or oddly shaped items may be eligible for shipping.
  • Hazmat – certain hazmat items (including but not limited to lithium batteries) are restricted from shipping to these areas.

An error message will appear at checkout if you enter an address and the item isn’t eligible to be shipped to that address. Check the item’s product detail page for eligibility.

Standard Shipping and International Priority Shipping are available for orders sent to addresses in U.S. Territories and Protectorates. Guaranteed Accelerated Delivery may also be available for select items.

 

 

About Shipping to Prisons

BoloboExpress.com delivers to penitentiaries, but we strongly suggest you contact the prison first to confirm that they accept deliveries and to note any special regulations the prison might have. Some prisons don’t allow delivery of hardcover books. Others place a limit on the number of items contained in a package.

The label on the outside of the packages will indicate only the destination address, BoloboExpress.com name, and return address. Special labels or instructions to the packages can’t be attached to the package. Gifts can’t be sent anonymously to inmates; the sender’s billing address will appear on the order invoice.

Because inmates cannot sign for deliveries, packages must be sent via U.S. Mail. While BoloboExpress.com often sends packages via U.S. Mail, we also use UPS and FedEx. There is no way for customers to request a specific shipper. To avoid delivery problems, you might consider having the items shipped to you and then shipping them to the penitentiary via U.S. Mail.

When ordering from BoloboExpress.com, you’re responsible for assuring the product can be lawfully imported to the destination.

The recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination. Orders shipped outside of the United States, United Kingdom, or EU countries may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties, and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches the recipient’s country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be fulfilled by the recipient; BoloboExpress has no control over these charges, nor can BoloboExpress predict what they may be.

If you set your shipping destination as your default shipping address, you’ll see items that are eligible to ship to that location in your search results. Changing your default shipping address will change your search results.

About Import Fees Deposit

BoloboExpress and BoloboExpress Global Store offer customers customs duties, taxes, and fees (“Import Fees”) estimation during checkout and customs clearance on your behalf for certain eligible countries and regions.

Calculating Fees

When you order products from BoloboExpressGlobal for shipment to countries or regions outside of the U.S., UK, or EU countries or from BoloboExpress Global Store for shipment to the U.S. or other countries, an estimate of the Import Fees will be levied on those items in your order. With your authorization, these funds are used by the carrier or another agent to pay the Import Fees on your behalf (or the recipient’s behalf) to the appropriate authorities of the destination country (“Import Fees Deposit”). The payment of import fees is the responsibility of the importer and is levied based on the laws of the country into which the products are being shipped.

Import Fees Deposits will vary depending on the selected shipping method. The Import Fees Deposit is an estimation of the taxes and duties that may apply and isn’t an actual calculation. Customs regulations and tax rates applicable to certain goods may change between the date the taxes and duties were estimated and the applicable taxes and duties on the date of import into the destination country. The duty or tax rate is often determined by the classification of a good, which varies by country and region.

Duties and taxes are calculated based on the market value (actual price before any promotions) of the product and not the price after BoloboExpress promotions. This allows destination country customs authorities to obtain the accurate import duties and taxes owed to them based on the actual value of the goods.

You won’t be charged additional fees if the actual Import Fees exceed the Import Fees Deposit, we estimated. For items sold by BoloboExpress Marketplace sellers, please check the seller’s policies.

If the actual Import Fees are less than the Import Fees Deposit collected by us on your behalf, you’ll automatically be refunded the difference to the payment method you used for the order. You’ll receive a notification e-mail confirming the amount of the refund. The process takes 60 days from the shipment date.

Note: 

  • The cost to ship items from each product category to international destinations varies by item, shipment, and shipping option.
  • The above terms also apply to the shipment of any replacement product that might be shipped if there’s a problem with the original shipment. If you return a product to us, you’ll be the exporter from the original shipping destination and will be responsible for compliance with all export laws of that country or regions.

  • Freight Forwarders and Hand Carry

Using a freight forwarder to ship or hand-carrying items internationally may result in complications not covered by BoloboExpress.

If a freight forwarder or hand-carrying is used, the following terms will apply:

  • BoloboExpress won’t be responsible for damage, defect, material difference, or loss that occurs to goods after they’re delivered to you or a freight forwarder. This means that BoloboExpress isn’t able to provide a replacement of any shipments delivered to you or a freight forwarder. You should refuse goods that arrive damaged and instruct freight forwarders to do the same.
  • If you (or a freight forwarder you so designate) have a U.S. address, purchase goods from BoloboExpress.com to be shipped to a U.S. location, and then subsequently export the goods, you or the designated freight forwarder are considered the exporter and are solely responsible for compliance with all export and import regulations, including all U.S. export regulations and the import regulations of the destination country. BoloboExpress must not be listed on any export documentation (e.g., export declarations, invoices, packing lists, air waybills, etc.). It is your responsibility to ensure the freight forwarder’s most up-to-date U.S. address is used.
  • If you (or a freight forwarder you so designate) do not have a U.S. residence and purchase goods from BoloboExpress.com to be shipped to a U.S. location, you or the designated freight forwarder may not subsequently export the goods without prior written authorization from BoloboExpress.
  • Products that cannot be exported directly from BoloboExpress.com, which you export yourself or through a freight forwarder may not be returned directly to BoloboExpress. Products offered for export directly from BoloboExpress.com, which you export yourself or through a freight forwarder may be returned to BoloboExpress, provided that you are responsible for acting as the importer of record and all the costs associated with returning the goods to BoloboExpress. BoloboExpress will not serve as the importer of record on returns that were originally exported by you or a freight forwarder. If you return an item that was originally exported by you or a freight forwarder, you’ll be the exporter from your shipping destination and will be responsible for compliance with all export laws of that country or region.
  • Note: International return labels will not be issued for items sent through a freight forwarder or hand carry. The Return Mailing Label is for U.S. domestic shipments only. In order to use a BoloboExpress pre-paid Return Mailing Label, you must first return the eligible goods to a U.S. address. Then, use the Return Mailing Label to return the goods to the BoloboExpress fulfillment center listed on the Return Mailing Label from that U.S. address. In addition, you become the exporter and importer of record of the shipment; title and risk of loss transfer to BoloboExpress upon receipt of the goods at BoloboExpress’s fulfillment center listed on the Return Mailing Label.
